Steven Chong, is a University of Toronto B.Com. graduate and is a duly qualified and licensed CPA, CA practicing in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Before establishing his practice in 1995 he articled with the firm Ward Mallete (now BDO) and was a Senior Manager and Associate at D’Angela Sorrenti Collins Barrow.
His practice serves GTA and B.C. owner managed businesses and professionals and international individuals and corporations from Asia, U.S. UK and Middle East. In addition to auditing, accounting and tax services including U.S. tax, other services include: tax efficient wealth accumulation and preservation structures including setting up company pension plans; SRED applications; successful representations to CRA on unfair/incorrect tax audit assessments, specialized income tax and accounting services for non-resident individuals and corporations with investments in Canadian real estate and foreign subsidiaries operating in Canada.
Steven is a 4th generation Canadian, spent his early years growing up and working on a family farm and played ice hockey. In addition to participating in Tax Planning seminars in the GTA including the University of Toronto, Steven has been a guest speaker on Canadian income tax to investors and new immigrants in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Wenda graduated from the University of Waterloo and is a duly qualified CPA, CMA. She has over 20 years of public accounting experience. She had also worked as a Controller in a manufacturing and import/export company for about 10 years. Wenda has extensive experience in auditing, accounting and taxation of small and medium size business including health professionals, construction, property management, retail and manufacturing. Wenda is fluent in Cantonese and has travelled the world.

Since 2007, John has been exposed to a wide variety of companies and engagements. He is involved in most assurance (Review and Audit) engagements of the firm. He also specializes in tax compliance and planning/advisory services for local owner managed businesses including real estate developers/contractors, restaurants, retailers, investment companies, car dealerships, importers/ wholesalers/exporters, law firms, dental and medical practices, travel agencies, not-for-profit organizations and GST/HST New Housing Rebates applications.
John is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and a graduate of the Honours Accounting and Financial Management program at University of Waterloo. John is fluent in Cantonese and is also an accomplished musician.

Ken joined Steven’s office as a Tax Associate since 2013. Before joining Steven’s office, he worked for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for over 35 years. Ken started with CRA as an auditor trainee in 1977 and progressed through increasingly senior roles in a number of areas, including Audit and Special Investigations. His last position at the CRA was a team manager in Audit, specializing in Small, Medium Enterprises files, where he was responsible for overseeing a team of auditors. Ken dealt with taxpayers, their accounting and legal representatives and held meetings with the Department of Justice on civil and criminal tax matters. With his experience, technical knowledge and understanding of the CRA policies and processes, he provides valuable advice to our clients.
Ken has handled a number of challenging cases in Audit, Appeals or Tax Court stage. In the end, he was able to deliver rewarding resolutions to each and every client through reduction or cancellation of reassessed amounts, cancellations of penalties, settlements made at the audit stage, and acceptance of Voluntary Disclosures made on behalf of the clients. Ken is fluent in Cantonese.

Sandy has been with our accounting team on a part time basis for over 15 years. Sandy has a solid foundation in bookkeeping and accounting duties. She has been helping our clients in bookkeeping along with payroll, HST, monthly trial balances, bank and account reconciliations and quarterly/yearly financial statements. You will usually see Sandy around our office during the months of March - May preparing personal income taxes. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, music and having good laughs.

Anderson graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in accounting. He has been with our firm since 2019, after preparing personal income tax returns for 5 years. Anderson has extensive experience with personal and corporate income taxes including tax issues for non-residents of Canada, GST/HST issues regarding rental properties including GST/HST New Residential Rental Property Rebate applications, as well as experience in accounting for small and medium owner managed businesses.

Alice Mao graduated from University of Guelph with the Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in accounting, and she started working with us in 2019. She has been helping our clients for the regular bookkeeping work with payroll calculations, HST filing, bank and account reconciliations, T4/T5 filing, ROE, WISB filing, etc… Alice also has experience on personal tax return filing, including the non-resident tax returns. Alice is fluent in Mandarin.

Shawn graduated with a BCom in accounting from University of Alberta. At SC CPA, he is involved in various personal (including non-resident), corporate, and trust tax engagements, as well as compilation engagements for private held business. Shawn is a native Mandarin speaker.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the start of my CPA, CA office on December 1, 2020. Feeling thankful for all the support from my family, friends, loyal clients, current and past staff accountants and fellow professionals that I have had the privilege of working together with. I looked beyond the farm where I was raised and the four walls of my office and my work took me not only across Canada but also to Asia, U.S., Europe and It has been an amazing journey and thanks again to all who joined me for the ride!
